All Baseball Leagues 2006 Week 1

Wednesday, April 19: Deadline for fax or mailed week 3 lineups. 5:00 PM Week 2 results available on website and voicemail. Friday, April 21, 7 PM: Week 3 transactions posted to website and voicemail. Thursday, April 27: Deadline for fax or mailed week 4 lineups. 5:00 PM Week 3 results available on website and voicemail. Monday, May 1, 7 PM: Week 4 transactions posted to website and voicemail. PHONE INFO All purpose Number: Voice, Fax and Voicemail 888-833-9451 FAX lineups by noon EDT on deadline day. WEB SITE: boxscoresports.com E-MAIL ADDRESS: THE CHAT ROOM – MORE THAN DRAFTS Just a reminder that Boxscore Sports has our own chat room, available 24/7 directly from the website. Just click on Chatroom on the home page, located at the bottom of the column where My Stuff appears. The normal use of the room is for drafts. Several of you have used this feature for trade negotiations. It’s much more immediate than swapping e-mails back and forth, and unlike the phone, it’s free! Give it a try and report back to me on your experiences, good or bad. ORPHAN TEAMS We still have a few orphan teams available
in continuing leagues. The Commish is going crazy trying to manage all these
teams to keep them competitive. This is also a good way to bring in a new
owner to Boxscore and pick up 40 Boxscore Bucks for your trouble. Please see
the website for rosters and pricing details. Also remember that if you pick
up one of these teams, the price is $20 less than the amount on the website,
since it will qualify for the multiple team discount.
Click on “AVAILABLE TEAMS” to get the rosters and pricing details. |
FREE PASS IN
WEEK 1
Because the teams in continuing leagues had no preseason transaction period
to adjust their roster, and newly drafted teams had limited time, no claims
will be charged in week 1 for being over the salary cap. Look at this as your
amnesty!
TRADE ISSUES
Once again, owners are having problems with
the website trade facility when making “unbalanced” trades (not the same
number of players on both sides of the trade) or trades of players on
reserve. If you are not careful to make room on your rosters, the trade will
go through incorrectly with random players being dropped from your roster to make
room. At the current time, there are no edits to check for the validity of
these trades. The edits are complex to program, and we think that owners are
capable of thinking through these trades. VOICEMAIL SYSTEM Since over 95% of
owners get their information from the website, use of the voicemail system
has dramatically decreased. We are now posting transactions and results only
for those leagues that have owners with no website access. Only the Earl
Weaver National Division will have voicemail postings this season. If this presents a
problem for you, please let us know. LINEUP DEADLINES The deadline for
faxing or website entry of transactions and lineups will always be due at noon, EDT on the cutoff day (usually Thursday –see
the weekly schedule). Although there may be many cases where there is no
afternoon game on the deadline day, and the deadline could be later, it seems
to be easier to remember and manage to have a consistent cutoff time, so noon
it is! 10TH Inning “It comes to a point where the writing is on the wall. It looks like graffiti right now.” Sterling Hitchcock on his retirement. (Thanks to Stu Baron for
